To answer in greater detail, being stuck in a rut is not the hard thing for the 9-5 weekend partiers, climbing out of that rut is.

If debating and arguing is the truly hard thing to do (truly), then in all actuality the battle you're truly fighting is one in which you stand up for yourself. But, I was referring to the majority of the American culturally raised people with that one, because frankly, our society has thought us to back up our lousy arguments with balls rather than brains. So the hard thing to do is to be quiet and use your brain (which requires you to be quiet and listen no?)

And yes, the universe in indifferent to your actions, and there is no general right or wrong answer. But there is a right or wrong answer for the individual... for you.

My minimalism may not be your right answer if the right thing for you to do is to gather more posessions. My listening rather than arguing may not be right thing for you if your battle is one which you learn to talk, argue, and verbally defend yourself.

Our battles are different, but the easy thing would be for us to step down and go home, the hard thing is fighting the battle.

There are some points I would like to comment on:
Sometimes the hard things ARE debating and continuing to fight your point. Sometimes it is REALLY easy to just give and minimize all that you have. Lastly, not everyone who works 9-5 parties on the weekend; and if they do...they might not enjoy it....maybe their stuck in a rut? ...therefor that statement would be invalid because what is "easy" in your opinion is really the hard part in THEIR lives to change.
What's truly hard is finding a balance so you don't become a workaholic perfectionist who is constantly pushing herself/himself to points of self destruction...because in the end...you rebelling against the "norms" of society will make you part of a system you do not want to be part of. What's truly hard (and terrifying) is understanding that everything in this universe is indifferent and that in the end.....there is no right or wrong answer....and certainly, no path of least resistance.
